German-born Beate Minderjahn immigrated to New Zealand in 1999 with her husband and son and is now living and working in Red Beach, North of Auckland. Her passion for “everything artistic” was inspired by a creative mother and her up-bringing in Germany and Belgium.
After visiting a Technical College, graduating in Business Management and studying Interior Design, Beate has combined her life-long passion for Interiors, Art and Design with the learned skills in her career as artist and designer. For more than sixteen years Beate has created abstract artworks in water colours, acrylics, objects, Digital Photo Art, Collages and Mixed Media to capture the beauty of nature and to unleash human expressions.
Painting large abstract works in her studio, designing children’s clothing with positive messages, costume making, writing poems & short stories, collaborating with other artists or writers, childrens art & craft workshops are only part of Beate’s “freedom” of working as an independent artist. Her artwork has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Germany, United States, New Zealand, Italy and China.
